Our dentistry services include:
Dental Exams & Cleanings
Visiting your dentist every six months for a regular dental exam and a cleaning is recommended to help prevent cavities and gum disease. This type of preventive dentistry is important for reducing dental problems later in your life. Dr. Cavanaugh and our staff will work to educate you and your loved ones on how to properly care for your teeth. This will help you maintain a healthy mouth in between appointments.
Fluoride Treatments
Fluoride is an element naturally found in most tap water. It helps prevent decay and strengthens your teeth. While the fluoride in tap water does provide some benefits, sometimes it isn’t enough to build up enamel. Our fluoride treatments are provided during routine cleanings, especially for younger patients. This helps set them up for great oral health for life.
Resin (White) Fillings
After a cavity has been removed, a filling is used to help restore your tooth. Filling materials are made out of durable and strong materials which can withstand chewing forces. White or composite fillings provide a more conservative option than amalgam/silver fillings. This type of filling saves natural tooth structure and protects against broken teeth, in addition to improving tooth stability and strength. Among the many benefits of this type of filling is it is carefully matched to your natural tooth color and structure. This makes it virtually undetectable to the naked eye.
Emergency Services
Our practice provides a full range of emergency dental services. Whether your child has knocked out a tooth, you need denture repairs, or you need an emergency root canal or extraction, we are here and ready to help. If you or a loved one are experiencing an emergency, please contact our office at 701-662-4141 for care or after-hours instructions. We work to treat every patient promptly and efficiently.
Early Dental Screenings
Our staff is committed to helping younger patients develop positive associations with the dentist and oral health. From our beginning, we have focused on creating a welcoming, family-friendly environment in our practice. We provide early dental screenings for children to help you and your child develop good at-home dental habits. For young children, we provide lap visits, meaning you sit with your child while we examine their teeth and gums.
Same Day Crowns & Bridges
To save you time and provide you with convenient, high-quality care our practice offers same-day crown and bridge restorations. CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. This system eliminates the need for temporary crowns and ensures a perfect fit and color match every time. This advanced technology combined computer-assisted design (CAD) dentistry and 3D imaging to accurately design tooth restorations.
Implant Restorations
A dental implant provides you with a permanent restoration option if you have lost a tooth extraction or injury. It consists of titanium posts which are surgically inserted into the bone beneath the gums. These posts fuse to the jawbone and provide a stable foundation for replacement crowns, bridges, or dentures.
If you are a candidate for dental implants, we will recommend you to a qualified oral surgeon to perform the procedure. Our practice can complete the final crown restoration after the area is properly healed.
Dentures & Partials
For patients missing all or most of their teeth, dentures provide a great restorative option. If you retain some of your natural teeth, partials may be recommended. Full dentures are recommended for patients who are missing most of their natural teeth. A full set of dentures may even give you a better smile than you had before! We work with each patient to determine which restoration fits their immediate and long-term oral health needs.
Denture & Partial Repairs/Relines
When your dentures are new, they will typically fit securely and comfortably in your mouth. This is because they have been specifically designed for your gums. As time passes, your gum tissues will become more loose, which creates more movement in your mouth. To help keep your dentures secure and functional, it is best to have your dentures relined to ensure they are functional and secure.
In addition to denture relining services, we also provide denture repair services. Damaged dentures can cause you discomfort and interfere with your ability or speak or chew properly. Whether your dentures have been damaged due to normal wear and tear or you have experienced a sudden break, we are here and ready to help.
Root Canals
A root canal — or endodontic therapy — may be needed if a cavity or gum disease has reached the pulp of a tooth. This procedure may also be necessary if you have experienced severe trauma to a tooth. During a root canal, we will clean out and disinfect the interior of a tooth and remove the infected pulp. The canals of the tooth are sealed to prevent further bacterial infections. At the end of the procedure, the tooth is restored with a crown, which adds stability and strength to the tooth structure. This restores the tooth to normal function.
Extractions
If a tooth is beyond repair or is severely decayed and is putting other teeth at risk and extraction may be necessary. Poorly positioned or overcrowded teeth may also be a cause for extraction. We will work with you to discuss your available treatments and the best replacement option for your tooth. Our goal is to make sure you are comfortable throughout the entire procedure and ensure you maintain your best dental health.
Cosmetic Veneers
Looking to achieve a brighter, more luminous smile? Porcelain veneers can help you change your smile for the better. This is a minimally invasive procedure which can help correct imperfections in your smile such as gaps, spaces, or chips. Your veneers will look and feel like natural teeth and are stain resistant. They are a permanent restoration option and are bonded to your teeth using extremely strong adhesives.
Teeth Whitening
A whiter smile can boost your self-esteem and give you more confidence. Teeth whitening is one of the most popular and common cosmetic dentistry treatments available today. Whether you are looking to lessen stains caused by coffee, smoking, or aging, or are preparing for a big event, we want to help you achieve the smile you’ve been dreaming of.
ClearCorrect Orthodontic Aligners
Looking for an alternative to traditional braces? The ClearCorrect systems use clear aligners to help straighten teeth. These aligners are custom-made and removable and work by moving teeth a little bit at a time. While the treatment time varies from patient to patient, most patients use the system for 1 to 2 years.
